About
Maya Howes has been sewing from the age of 9, selling her work since she was 16, and taking commissions since she was 18. She currently has a small business making historical clothing for re-enactors and theatre, as well as teaching historic sewing techniques. Her future career intentions are to focus her existing business on historical corsetry and stay making, as well as working women's garments. Her aim is to help widen the practice of making comfortable and historically accurate garments for re-enactors, in film, television and theatre, and for use in museums.
